Researchers, historians, and Hollywood generally agree that Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid escaped to South America probably in 1901. Its the stuff of legends and the premise for the blockbuster movie, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, staring Robert Redford, Paul Newman, and Kathrine Ross. It was a huge hit. It was based loosely on research done by well known authors like Charles Kelly, Lula Parker Betenson, Jim Dullenty, and many others. Since then, many other researchers have taken up the torch, men like Dan Buck, Bill Betenson, Jerry Nickle, and of course us!

But...is any of it true?

Hollywood wasn't aiming for truth exactly, but the story of Butch Cassidy is very real. Based on research we have been working on over the last 2 decades, we have uncovered a compelling discovery: Butch Cassidy, real name Robert Leroy Parker, may have died before his reported escape to Argentina. If Robert Parker is not the man who went with Harry Longabaugh and Etta Place, who is? And is any of the story truly accurate?

On June 27th, 2024, with approvals from living relatives and local authorities, we recovered a sample of DNA from a man we believe is Robert Leroy Parker, the notorious outlaw, Butch Cassidy. The evidence supporting this discovery is wide and deep--it will be further revealed in subsequent videos and news releases. The DNA that is currently being analyzed by a reputable DNA Forensics company will make the final argument whether this discovery changes western history...or not.
