Etta Place is holy grail of the Outlaw Trail. Lots of histories have guessed at her identity. Many say she was Ann Bassett or a prostitute from Texas. Others say she was just a school teacher. In history, she shows up in the Pinkerton files and in the 1901 photo taken in New York city with the Sundance Kid before heading off to South America. We will also have a few ideas!
The pictures in this video are NOT the picture of Etta when she was 16 and we have not revealed the identity of the woman we believe Etta Place really is. When we do, we think it will make history. However, she is the center of what makes the Butch Cassidy / Wild Bunch / Robber's Roost Gang special.
Even more than Cattle Kate, Etta is the most famous female outlaws there is. She is beautiful, daring, and living dangerously. So who was she?? We are actively researching to find the answer. We think we have it. What are your thoughts?
