When it comes to historical research, DNA is king. We've been working on this project with Robert Parker for almost a year and the result is in sight. When we have it, you'll have it. What does this all mean anyway? Well, we've been reluctant to say more before DNA evidence proves whether the man we found is Robert Leroy Parker or not. There is a lot of evidence pointing towards a positive conclusion. There is some other evidence that says it could be a close family member or relative of the Parkers. If you know anything about genetic genealogy or forensic genealogy, you know that it will be conclusive...and so we wait for the results.
Who was Butch Cassidy? Did he die in South America in a gunfight with Bolivian soldier, the Sundance Kid by his side? Or did he die in Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, Washington, or somewhere that we'll never find? We'll get back to our telling of Bill Long's story soon, but we can't wait to share this with you.
